Baritone Guitar

This guitar was originally built in 1996, as a custom order. After the top was irreparably damaged, it was entirely rebuilt; however, the original owner had moved on to another instrument, and this very unique and lovely instrument is once again available.

Initially designed as a jazz guitar, with a 26" string length (for easier fingering up to the 24th fret) and a wide string spacing at the nut, it has a Maccaferri-braced spruce top, maple sides and neck, and a cedar back. The fingerboard and hand-carved bridge are ebony, and it has a Bartolini 5-J jazz guitar pickup.

After it was rebuilt, we noticed that with different strings and tuning, it also works beautifully as a baritone. Sold with a gig bag, for $1,200.
