Gibson Melody Maker (version 2.0)
(Sorry, this instrument has been SOLD!)
Originally brought into this world in 1964, this Gibson Melody Maker (original serial No. 217851) has been repaired and restored to a wonderful player's instrument. Believe it or not, the headstock of this guitar had been broken off, repaired, and broken again, and required complete replacement; this is why we call it "version 2.0."
The original fingerboard, which interestingly has a multi-radiused design (9.5"-16"), has been preserved and refretted with medium frets, similar to those originally used. Replacement of the original Strat-style, single-coil with a Seymour Duncan P-90 stacked pickup and push-pull coil switching controls provides a wider variety of sounds and tone options. The body finish is original, with the exception of a few small touch-ups (close-up body picture shows the worst of the 'dings' on the lower bout).
Sold with the original brown faux-alligator fiberboard case, which is in poor condition. $700.00.(Note: The original single-coil pickup, pickguard and controls are available upon request.)
